BIL, Dennis, had bad heart attack this am.
Lucky for him, he was at work so got immediate care.
In surgery until about 4 this sfternoon.
My sister was in Salt Lake City on business and won't get home until about the time he goes to recovery.
Thanks in advance for prayer or good thoughts.

Thank you for your prayers/thoughts.
I think he really had divine intervention on this ....
His wife was on a business trip and she is very lucky not to have come home to a dead husband.
He had 100% blockage in the artery that feeds the heart, right near where it branches out.
He passed out at school.
Medics came very soon.
Nearest hospital was not THAT far away.
Heart cath lab was available. Surgeon was available.
OR room was available.
Dr. said that they needed to get some blood flowing within 30 minutes.
They used ?? to get some blood to the heart while they began working......
The dr. had to use the paddles 3 times in the surgery to get his heart started. (yikes!!)
All of those things made it a very lucky day for him.
He loves to fish, and I think he needs to fill out the retirement papers and go fishing!
My sister says she is going to insist he find a new cardiologist. He saw the cardiologist on August 31st. ..who told him all was OK, and he'd see him in 12 months. (That is not the dr. who did the emergency surgery.)

Whew! That was a close one. When you need a cath lab and having it fairly close by is a blessing. When I was scheduled for vascular surgery at 10 am.
my surgeon had to do emergency surgery all afternoon. I went into the OR at 6 pm. Someone said "I would have been angry." But if someone needs a cath lab, they need it THEN. But it did mean I had to spend the night. I had woken up a minute or two before I saw something go past my window. It was a prisoner who had escaped from the floor above. I had quite a distraction to watch. Steve didn't know what was going on when CBS stuck a mic in front of him as he was coming into the hospital. They did find him dead pretty far from the hospital (I think because of his injuries). He was in Lake Ray Hubbard at the I30 bridge.
Prayers that your BIL's rehab goes well and yes, HUG THAT PILLOW!
