Speed limits in Ft Worth
Speed limits in Ft Worth
There is a woman trying to get a law passed to change the statewide city speed limit to 25. You have got to be kidding me....like that would make any difference.
Re: Speed limits in Ft Worth
All streets or residential streets?
Re: Speed limits in Ft Worth
I thought I read residential streets, which would probably be reasonable.

Residential....sorry I should I have said.
Reasonable?? It's not going to slow down the people who drive 40 to 50. There just needs to be more enforcement.

Lower limits equates to higher fines. But it still needs enforcement.

I can't disagree with that, speed limits in residential areas are already 30 mph. I've hollered at people going down my street at 40-50. I guess I'll get shot someday.

I think if a neighborhood wants to have 25 mph speed limit, maybe they should be able to decide on it and even pay for the signs. Maybe. But to make 25 mph in residential neighborhoods a requirement statewide is just craziness.

Our street has been 20 for the 30+ years we have lived here.
People totally ignore it.
Police rarely work it--or the stop sign near our house.

How do you have a 20 mph speed zone? Do you live next to a school?

Before we moved in, the neighborhood was full of kids (not so many here now).
A council member/later the mayor lived on the street. He got the speed limit lowered to 20 and it has remained that for all these years.

People usually go 20-25 mph down our street.
Re: Speed limits in Ft Worth
In my neighborhood the only place people go 20 is at a stop sign.
