This is really disturbing

Yesterday as I was baking, I had the TV on Fox news. I was watching/listening to John Glen's funeral. And then Fox switched over to, of all things, Trump's er, uh, "Thank you" tour. John Glen is an historical and heroic man in America. Not only is it disturbing but it's also disrespectful. What is wrong with our priorities? It's not like we haven't heard the "thank you" speech about 5 times or so. I listened to the first one but bailed out on the following ones. It was the same speech, different audience..
But here is a hero we should all respect and appreciate. No other channel that I checked was carrying this. We've gotten to be a very shallow country.

And if i am a fan of GLENNS accomplishments , i can buy books and other info about him !! BTW, none of the people you mentioned had the courage to make that step into space, was a decorated Marine, was an outstanding American worthy of praise. It wasn't an elaborate funeral, although the church was filled. Shame on you!

He already has books and specials written about him , he was elected to his government job and all its perks because he was popular and famous because of his astronaut fame . And as i said , Glenn was a good guy as far as i know , he Volunteered to be an astronaut , became famous and went on to other Gov work . ------------- TRUMP Though , he may be the future of the [hopefully] new and good movement that he started Ann .

If John Glen, AND John McCain, wanted to be remembered as "heroes"..they should have never chosen lengthy political careers.

Here are some things to consider..

Fox News went off the funeral or memorial, or whatever..because no one was watching.

I think if you really wanted to watch something so slow and boring instead of Trump, like most other Conservative people wanted to watch..you're a bit..different.

Besides that..the people that remember John Glen probably figured he died 25 years ago..I sure did.

And if I was like you, instead of explaining how the TV business works,,I'd be saying something stupid about you having your head up John Glen's butt..but then BOTH of us would like dipshits.

If people wanted to watch funerals, there would be an Obituary Channel.
Charles Lindbergh died in 1974, but I don't remember his funeral being covered live on TV, do you?
I was watching FOX, and they mentioned John Glenn constantly, all day long. That's fine: there are probably a lot of viewers who barely knew who Glenn was (or never heard of him), but it's certainly news that an American hero has passed. Live funeral? I'd be changing the channel.
