The opening line that GFB responded to was a stand-alone statement. What you posted is a sentence fragment.

How does Prop 13 work?
I think prop 13 froze Kalifornia property taxes back in the 70's.
Not exactly..but since the 70s..your purchase price defines your property taxes.
My house value can go up and up and up...my property taxes effectively don't change.
If you’re “woke”..you’re a loser.
Re: Income Inequality Is Not Rising Globally. It's Falling.
..and if I sold my house tomorrow, the buyer would pay about twice what I payed for the house.. they'd also pay twice what I pay for property taxes.
It pays to stay put.
It pays to stay put.
If you’re “woke”..you’re a loser.

[b]The opening line appears to be the only part of the article that you read.
When the opening line is 100% bogus..the writer's credibility is already shot.

The message from groups like Occupy Wall Street has been that inequality is up and that capitalism is failing us. A more correct and nuanced message is this: Although significant economic problems remain, we have been living in equalizing times for the world — a change that has been largely for the good. That may not make for convincing sloganeering, but it’s the truth.

Yes, we might consider some useful revisions to current debates on inequality. But globally minded egalitarians should be more optimistic about recent history, realizing that capitalism and economic growth are continuing their historical roles as the greatest and most effective equalizers the world has ever known.
You guys are disagreeing with this?

I agree with the writer — capitalism and economic growth lead to income equality.

and it's a bad thing? Some will always earn more than others. Some have more responsibility than others, some have more invested... the list goes on and on.
