Today I finished my 12 weeks of cardio-therapy at Baylor Waxahachie. It has been an amazing experience. I feel better than I have in the last 10 years. I still have a long way to go.

My goal is to get down to 200lbs. Last time I was there I wore a size 50 coat and 32" pants. I will make the weight, but I don't think it will still be stacked that way.
Anyway, there is a large church camp about 12 miles from us. They have a large physical fitness center with fantastic workout machines, a huge weight room, indoor track and indoor pool. We can get senior family discount memberships for $48.00 per month. I will start there in the morning.

That's wonderful Grouchy. Yes, the pool is my exercise. It's much easier on the joints and you don't sweat! It is pretty hard on my skin due to the chlorine though. I wake up every morning anxious to get to the pool. I'm out of it right now due to a sudden surgery one night last week. The incision has to heal and then I'm transferring to the Rockwall Y. I've had enough of the construction on I 30. I absolutely love my pool buddies in Greenville and that's the hard part. BUT, I'll go and have lunch with them once a week or so. The Greenville Y pool has been closed because of not being able to chlorinate the pool due to a mechanical problem. The place is falling apart and patching it up happens often. It was built in the late 40's or early 50's. When I toured the Rockwall Y, it was like a palace. I can just transfer my membership and the monthly fee is the same. A resident here in Rockwall donated $5 million to completely renovate it.

Maybe Karen would like to try the pool at the new place? Please tell her I highly recommend it.

I'm still trying to find a place to go work out. My husband's idea of me going to the senior center won't work because they are only open 4 hours on Saturday and NONE on Sunday. And the fitness center I looked into was cheap but had lots of complaints. So I'm going to keep on looking.

Is there a YMCA nearby?

YMCA has a good deal at the beginning of the year. Their membership fee is $1 on January 1 and goes up a dollar a day until it reaches whatever the standard fee is.

The pool is going to be great for her. The patella fracture therapy has been completed and they are doing therapy on the meniscus repairs. She will be able to get low impact exercise in the pool. School staff reports to work August 15th and she needs to finish healing.

We've had people come to the pool because their ortho prescribed it before knee replacement surgery. They are very aware of "muscle memory" and yet, don't want further damage to the knee before the surgery. Quite a few of them who didn't work, came back after the surgery because they liked the exercises and the upbeat feel of the class.
