John Ford loved shooting in Monument Valley.

When I was about 10 years old, we drove to Marfa to watch Giant being filmed. We had been in San Angelo visiting relatives.
The day we were there, they were filming a scene where James Dean drove up in front of the mansion (just a front) and Rock Hudson came out of the door and met him. They filmed it all day.
For a kid it was pretty boring.
I never got around to seeing the movie.
