Mosquitoes HAVE to have stagnate water to breed. Walk around your yard and check for anything that could be holding water. Dripping faucetd, pet's water bowl, bird bath, etc. Dump water bowls and bird baths every couple of days and fill with fresh water. Make sure your gutters are not holding water.

They can smell carbon dioxide from 200 yards away. Your yard can be as clean as a whistle and they'll still find you.

If you spread the word enough, maybe your neighbors will do it too.

Better yet, what if all your neighbors are dumping their stagnate water and YOU are not doing it because you think it won't help.

I AM a mosquito magnet.

I said this many times on DD : If I weren't so heat intolerant, I could make a very good living as a mosquito repellent ( they avoid EVERYONE else when I'm around ) at outdoor gatherings large and small.
No matter where you go, there you are...

My husband is the mosquito magnet and he uses deep woods. I rarely use anything since they don't seem to care for me.

Mosquitoes had too much competition in California. The tax collector had the blood sucked out of everybody and the mosquitoes had to move on.

..and as a percentage of each of our respective property values.. I'll bet your property tax is multiples of mine.

Yes, it sucks.. but unlike property taxes.. it can be somewhat manageable.
