1920: Norma Dolores Egstrom was born -- as Peggy Lee, she got "Fever"

1926: Miles Davis was born -- he died in 1991

1948: Stevie Nicks was born

1949: Hank Williams Jr. was born -- on that day, we doubt he was ready for some football

1962: "Stranger On The Shore" was at #1 on the US singles charts for Acker Bilk

1964: Marianne Faithful recorded "As Tears Go By" (written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards) with Jimmy Page on guitar and John Paul Jones on bass

1966: "Paint It, Black" was at #1 on the UK singles charts for The Rolling Stones -- the record company (Decca) added the comma and it was the first #1 song to feature a sitar

1966: The Beatles recorded "Yellow Submarine" at Abbey Road Studios in London -- that's John Lennon blowing bubbles in a bucket of water and yelling, "Full speed ahead"

1969: John and Yoko started their eight-day "bed in" (room 1742 of The Hotel La Reine Elizabeth, Montreal, Canada) for "world peace" -- there, they recorded "Give Peace A Chance"
