As the crow flies Venus is only about 15 miles north of us.
Cliff lives about 6 miles from there.
Some of you may not know this, but we came close to
losing Cliff due to head trauma. He is now doing rehab.

He would probably get PO'ed if I called him at this time
of night so I will wait and do it in the morning.

Cliff is a very good man!

Yes he is, Grouchy. I feel bad that I haven't kept up with his rehab. He may never remember how it happened. Although I've never met him in person, after all the years of DD, you do get to know someone pretty well and care for them as an old friend. He's given so much time and dedication to his church now they're giving back to him. It's the way the world should be.

Cliff and I got pretty close. A few times when they went
out of town I would go over and feed his goats and little
burro. Tanner and Trey loved it, especially when there were
new babies.

Ok, just had a great long conversation with Cliff.

Readers Digest version. He got damn lucky. Massive
trauma to the right side of his brain. Turns out he was
still up at Big Baylor at the time I was there. There
we're real concern about whether he would ever be able
to fully recover, but in fact he will. It just going to take
some time and lots of rehab.

I say again that Cliff is one of the good guys.

Ann, I told him you had also been thinking of him.
He said thanks.

Glad to hear he's doing better. It's been a while since I read about it. Could you remind me what happened??

His wife woke up one night to him moaning in bed and could not get him awake.
They are not sure how it happened but he had been up in the kitchen
and took a fall. Somehow he made it back to bed and then the swelling on
the brain kicked in. He has no memory of it happening or the next couple
of weeks.
That is the Readers Digest version. :D

Sorry to hear about what happened to Cliff, I hope he makes a full recovery.

It took about 18 months for my recovery.

I had no idea that either of these things had happened. Not too worried about the tiny tremor, but I'm concerned about Cliff. I've never met him in person, but it's obvious that he is a very good man. Please give him my best.

I don't think I know Cliff but am so sorry to hear he's going through this trial. Good to know he's improving.
Working to love my fellow person regardless : >

For those of you on DR Facebook. Cliff is also a member. I posted a similar
thing on there. A lot of folks also were surprised to hear about him. Cliff
posted on there a little while ago.
