I wondered about that just the other day.

Last night I dreamed that some idiot took my dogs to the beach and turned them loose. I couldn't find them anywhere and really worried about Harry being run over because he can't hear and can hardly see. I figured someone picked up Alex and took him home with them. Horrible dream that hung with me after I woke up.

Thanks for asking.

We lost Prissy in October. She was one month shy of her 19th birthday.

I was in Croatia and Serbia that week. Prissy had been doing fine, but suddenly quit eating.

Dogs can go ordinarily go a long time without food..but not at that age.

By the time I got home she was quite thin, but still enjoying life. A few days later she had an episode..evidently her kidneys were shutting down..not sure which caused what..kidneys shutting down or inability to get food down.

Mei-Ling is doing very well..she'll be 9 in September.

Belated sympathy message, Greg. I'm so sorry for your loss of Prissy. It's so danged hard to lose our puppies.

Sorry to hear about your dog Prissy, Greg. I knew that at least one of them were getting on up there.

I dread losing my 16 yr old Siamese. He has been the perfect cat all these years...hangs out with me, not jealous of the girls, accepting of any other pet that I've brought home, always healthy. I don't remember if I have ever heard him growl or hiss at me or the girls. He will give the new dog a piece of his mind, but the dog just won't leave him alone.

That sounded like a terrible dream Sue.

Nope, you aren't. Heck, I had to go look up World Cup to be sure what sport it was. Did I mention I'm not a sports fan? 8-)

Okay, does anyone know what the most dangerous creature on Earth (based on humans killed). I'll give you the least dangerous...sharks at 5 people a year...and number 2...humans at 500,000 a year. So, what is number one?

That is sort of non-political.

There is one sport I know pretty much nothing about. I swore off soccer after having to watch my brother and dad play for many years during the 70's. Boring...

I am very sad about your loss. Dogs are wonderful and losing one really hurts.
How did Me-Ling handle the adjustment?

Yep...750,000 people a year. But, I am still afraid of sharks...they don't know they are not at the top of the food chain.

Naw, they are way down the list (of course, cats didn't make the list at all...slow year). Hippos kill more people than dogs though...and elephants.

According to a book about insects I got for my 6 year old grandson, Riley, the ordinary housefly is responsible for more deaths worldwide than any other creature.

My brother and I learned to play soccer with our neighbor, Greg Ryan, who coached the 2007 women's World Cup team.

It (Women's WC) has been around since '91. The Americans won that one, as well as the '99 tourney, which is most remembered for Brandi Chastain's celebration after her winning penalty kick:

Hope Solo pouted and destroyed the 2007 team when Ryan benched her in favor of Briana Scurry. In 2011, she choked, and the team fell apart under her (lack of) leadership and Japan came from behind and beat the USA. This year, the Americans won in spite of her being a loser. Incidentally: in the previous World Cup, Chastain was also critical of Solo.

Are fleas on the list? They are causing much misery lately.

Right, I do remember that scene when the girl won the game and took her top off.

Didn't realize I was watching the end of a World Cup.
