Joey Gallo homered in the 1st, his fifth in Frisco and 26th overall. Gallo struck out in his other three at-bats, twice on swings. Corpus pitchers were willing and able to scrape the low-outside corner. In high-A, most pitchers simply dealt belt-high and far outside, or way down and in, hoping for a wild swing that wasn't coming. It's new (and welcome) challenge for Gallo, who in 48 AA plate appearances has a 38% strikeout rate, equal to his lofty rate in Hickory last year.
