:)

Just tonight we were talking about how the smoking culture has changed.
"Barber chairs used to have ashtrays built into the arms, like airline chairs did at one time."
"Johnny Carson used to smoke at his desk."

Do you remember when men would use the cuffs of their pants for an ash tray if one was not available ? And from time to time set their pants on fire ? :D

It's gotten to where I don't really even care to see anyone vaping now. But my boss smokes in her office after 5, so I guess there's that. :(

1976--We have a photo of my husband in hospital scrubs holding a cigarette in one hand--our son had just been delivered and husband had been there for the birth.

Our son finds the photo hilarious.

I have lost family and friends to Lung Cancer, so the change in smoking habits are a good thing, but some of the things that went on with Cigarettes was very humorous.

Like driving down the road and dropping your cigarette and burning holes in the seat covers or carpet, or worse your own clothes :o

I finally decided to quit when they hit the outrageous price of 50 cents a pack. I had been overseas where a pack in commissary cost 10 cents. A 500% price increase was just too much.

Having lunch at Thundercloud Subs today I saw a plastic one on one of the outdoor tables.

Smoking was common on TV back in the day. In addition to Johnny Carson, Walter Cronkite and many other newscasters smoked on air.
