does it feel like 100 ? when it hits 100 ? Is your humidity high in Tx ? when it is 90 in North Carolina usually the humidity is so high it feels like 100

I haven't kept track of dates and temperatures over the years.
I do remember that in 1980 it was already 105 and 106 by July 1.

The summer of 1980 was one to remember.
This summer it will be July 23rd to hit 100 at DFW airport.

1980 was the worst--it held the record of over 100 days for years, but, IIRC 2011 broke the record........

I wonder what the global warming crowd would have done with this.
•Only month to record both 100°F and 32°F: Mar 1916 (25°F on the 3rd and 100°F on the 21st)

The average date for a 100-degree day in the Dallas-Fort Worth area: June 30.
We made it past that, but the reprieve may not last long.
On Monday, Dallas/Fort Worth Airport flirted with the century mark, reaching 99 before a nearby thunderstorm knocked the mercury down. Three locations — Naval Air Station Fort Worth, Meacham and Spinks airports — also reached 99.
“If we got that close today, we could very easily do it tomorrow or any day this week,” said Dan Shoemaker, a National Weather Service meteorologist.
But for now, the forecast doesn’t include a triple-digit high until Friday.
The later-than-usual rise to triple digits isn’t a guarantee that DFW will have a cooler summer. Last year, the first one was June 27 and there were 27 after that, above the average of 18 days.
“It gives us hope that it hasn’t been God-awful so far, but it could still be 110 in August,” Shoemaker said.

They just have to make it sound dire, don't they?
Yesterday a local TV weather person informed us that 99 was "close to 100 degrees."
