Buckee's
With all the talk about one coming to Corinth.............thought a poll was needed.
I'm sure GFB won't know, since it is a local thing.
GFB--it's a gas station on steriods.

We stop on the way to Houston at the one in Madisonville. Yes, it is a really, really busy place. However, we have not had to stand in line at a checkout because they have so many. The place reminds me of a super efficient beehive. We are in and out of there very quickly, and I do like their iced tea!

Corinth voted NO last night.
I don't blame the homeowners........95 pump station and 7,000+ cars expected DAILY. I wouldn't want that near my home either.

It's ok if you disagree with me.
I can't force you to be right.

Big stink in Bryan when Buckees sued a local "wannabe" "Chicks" over the Chicks signage/logo. Buckees won. Most of the stink was over aggies suing aggies. Chicks had grand expansion plans; but after the lawsuit, they ended up selling out to Stripes.
Never been to a Buckees; I think their gas prices are high and I've never embraced the eat where you get gas concept...

I'll stop any chance I get, I know there will be clean restrooms. Besides, where else can you get beaver nuggets????
Re: Buckee's
I'd never heard of it until Little Longhorn moved to Galveston for nursing school....we saw the signs on the first trip from Austin but didn't stop....on the 2nd trip, some of the nursing students had clued her in and we stopped....holy moly it's the CASINO of truck stops! Love the place! The 1 1/2 year she lived down there, we were frequently traveling with a dog or 3 in the car and they have a nice potty spot on the side of the building (yes, I always pick up after the dogs) and the restrooms are clean and the iced tea and coffee are delicious. We had a family lunch there on the way when we were moving her home for the last time...delicious sammys and all kinds of snacks. I kinda miss going there! Gas was a little more pricey than other places but it was worth it for the clean place to stop.
However...I would not want one to open at the entrance to my neighborhood, either.
In Madisonville, it doesn't appear to me to be too close to homes...

I love the place. I paid $3.35 for diesel there a few weeks back the brisket I got was awesome.

Re: Buckee's
After hearing so much about their restrooms, I was expecting bidets and jacuzzi hot tubs. Still, very nice to find a clean toidy on the road.
Can't you just picture a hot tub full of truck drivers?!
