More kid stuff
More kid stuff
Actually, grown up kid stuff. We leave for Indiana tomorrow for son's wedding (Saturday near Indianapolis).
They grow up quick.

It will be a great thing.
Re: More kid stuff
I went to Indianapolis for my brother's wedding many years (about 15) ago. That one didn't last long.
is this for your son or daughter? Are you driving?

This is for our son; they met at Purdue.
We are driving. We are bringing back his college locker (they built a new locker room); he says he doesn't want it, but when he has kids, he'll change his mind. Of course, I had to pay for it.

Re: More kid stuff
Best wishes to the happy couple. May the marriage last many years.
Have a safe trip.
As you said, they do grow up fast. Seems a short time ago he was deciding where to attend college.

Interesting trip to say the least. Wedding went well, everyone behaved and everyone had a good time.

I remember that being a pretty long drive...

It is. We made it 4 or 5 times a year in football season; got the route down pat. Went up in two days, came back in one.
However, because of a possible new job opportunity for me, we took an extended route home that added 5 hours to the trip. If it works out, my wife will be able to retire. Stay tuned....

Good luck on the job opportunity!
The first time we drove up there, we did it in one day. We left at 7:00am, so there should have been plenty of time. But we had four factors working against us:
1. We lose an hour getting there, because they are in the Eastern time zone
2. We had already lost an hour, because the time changed that morning. So the 7:00 felt more like 6:00.
3. Before we even got past Coppell, the plastic protective piece on the undercarriage of our van decided that it was a good time to break and drag on the ground. We had to rig it up with a piece of wire. In the dark.
Once we hit Missouri, it rained the whole rest of the way. That was a real joy in the dark.
Add to that the unfamiliarity of the route, and we didn't get there until almost 11pm. It was brutal.
Now, we either fly (usually non-stop) or drive it in two days.

Still waiting...
Job will be coming open, but not yet posted. The suspense is killing me....

OK. Job was posted late Friday afternoon. I got my application in yesterday.
We'll see how long the posting stays up. Most places require it to be up a week.
