Bluebonnet season --some data

Some of the bluebonnets were blooming prior to this cold spell. Don't know how it will affect them and the remainder.

Hopefully, I will get a chance to take my daughter to look at some bluebonnets. Anyone know of some spots CLOSER to the DFW area. Maybe the Corsicana/Ennis Area will be pretty this year?

Ennis should be great.
Their Chamber of Commerce used to have free maps of best fields. One year we picked up a map and drove the route.

I can keep you posted on the Ennis area. I always drive the trails a week or two before they have the Bluebonnet Festival.

Their Chamber of Commerce used to have free maps of best fields. One year we picked up a map and drove the route.

It's a little early to tell if we'll have a great year. The last couple have been a little disappointing. There were still a couple of places with pretty good fields but not as many as normal. I sure hope for a better year this year. Last year peaked a little early which was disappointing for the Festival.

There's still a map put out by the Ennis Convention and Visitor's Bureau. You can find a lot of information here: http://www.visitennis.org/bluebonnet.htm They will begin giving updates on the fields in April.

They also have an app you can download that will have the map and other information about Ennis.

I keep seeing a little more each year. More so along the highway but I've started noticing some in the fields.
