Prayer request

Postby ann jusko » Mon Sep 01, 2014 10:26 am

I'd appreciate a prayer or some good thoughts tomorrow. I'm having angioplasty tomorrow morning. It shouldn't be anything major since the vascular surgeon has been watching this for awhile. He thinks just ballooning the artery will do it.
Thanks!

Yo'll do just fine. Mine was a piece of cake. I was awake, watched the whole thing. There was almost no pain except when they removed the sheath in the groin that night. But, it wasn't really bad.

Well, it didn't all go as well as I expected. When I awoke, I felt terrific. I'm really, really glad I went to the surgery center instead of the hospital. RN to patient ratio is 1/1. Apparently my heart stopped twice during the procedure. It started again on it's own, after a few seconds (as they were reaching for the paddles). Then my blood pressure dropped and the monitor started screeching again. It went off again after I woke up. I had to lay there still with pressure on my groin for almost 3 hours. I felt fine and hubby helped me get dressed. As we were saying goodbye, I felt the blood running down my leg. I never saw people move so fast! I was back in the same bed for another two hours. We finally got home about 6 pm. Sherry, my nurse, never left my side, the surgeon and anesthesiologist were in and out constantly. The surgeon told my husband that "She has lots of problems in her abdomen and we'll discuss that when she comes in on Monday." I suspect it's all the scar tissue from the ovarian tumors, the perforated colon, plus having the adrenal gland tumor removed and then the aneurism repaired. I did have MRSA after the colon surgery and they had to go in again and clean all that out and leave the abdomen open. That's why I had a home health RN come to the house twice a day to pack the abdomen, for 5 months.

It'll all work out. He did put in a stent.
