Social Security spam

Postby truep » Tue Aug 13, 2019 1:48 pm

I've been receiving several calls a day from a spammer stating that my account has been suspended and a warrant for my arrest for fraud.
Please warn others that this SPAM! The calls supposedly come from a wireless caller in the 202 area code, the number varies.
I hope these guys are caught and sent to prison for a long time! Many seniors may fall for this so let your family elders know it's a spam!

this SCAM isn't new, its one of the old ones. Comes from many many phone numbers from all over the country as well as outside the USA. Hang up and hit block. New ones will still show up, but you have blocked one SOB.. PS the cops are NOT on the way. Rest Easy

These are the same people who call to inform you that your Microsoft licenses are about to expire. They want you to connect to a computer sharing application that would allow them access to your device. I wasted about 20 minutes of their time before they hung up.

I wasn't worried about it, I knew it was phony. Same with the IRS,and the Microsoft scams. I posted because someone else might panic. I did report them though. There is also an ATT scam going. they call and tell you that they over billed you and want account numbers and so forth. They even send a verification number.

Send me your mothers maiden name, your social security number and the routing number of your bank account and I will look into this.

Not as bad as the one that sends you an email and says they have inbedded software on your computer and has turned on your camera to record you watching porn and is going to send a video to everyone on your email list unless you deposit an amount of money in bitcoin to their account.
There is no bad peace and there are no good wars
