About that star on the post

Postby LibraryLady » Wed Jun 04, 2014 4:03 pm

A couple of days ago, Jami (IIRC) asked about starring a title of a thread.
So, I experimented and added a star to my post.

Now, the program is starring whatever I post....(I think).

I posted the link of dog and deer--I did NOT put a star, but now it has a star on it.

I have "none" indicated on this title--let's see if it suddenly has a star. :?:

I just replied to a BoB thread, and now it is starred (at least on my screen).

This is just an odd feature of the program!!

I don't see any stars. We must use different browsers.

I'm using Firefox.

But, perhaps it is only showing on my computer.

Just looked at it over on Chrome--and no stars.

It must relate to:
*FIrefox
*The fact that I put a star on one post.

What's the purpose of the star? (Which I don't see.)

Never argue with a Moron, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience every time.

BoB
As I understood it, the star was an indicator of "hey, this is a GOOD thread."
Jami made a joke about this board not having a star in which a person could star their own thread.

I pointed out that it is available as an option, right about the thread title....so then I starred a thread to test my theory.

NOW, I think I am wrong.

Apparently it is a way for a person to "mark" threads that the person might want to mark for some reason...........

Since I tried the star, I'm getting a star.

One of you can play with it and see if you get a particulary icon on all your posts. :?:

You will see a tiny star on threads that you post on.

There is an icon option available above the text box where you can add a star, heart, question mark, etc.
