Symbolic gesture, I suppose, but it's not like the decorations are irreplicable. And the awards can't be removed from the DD-214.
I wonder how many of these vets still have the medals displayed in a shadow box.

I couldn't do that. I don't know where mine are. Packed in some box I guess. :roll:

There were actually two wars in SE Asia at the same time. One you never heard about. It was an air war in Laos fought by WWII pilots without ID flying prop job bombers out of Thailand to try to close the Ho Chi Min trail.
