Maine follows Colorado's lead and kicks Trump off the ballot!

Postby planosteve » Thu Dec 28, 2023 6:50 pm

Maine's top election official said Thursday she will remove Donald Trump's name from the presidential ballot, a decision that will likely be appealed along with a similar ruling in Colorado.

Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows, a Democrat, announced the decision Thursday, citing the "insurrectionist ban" in the 14th Amendment.

Has Trump been CONVICTED of insurrection? Maine, Colorado and any other states planning it, might have a leg to stand on if he had, or is found guilty of that. Until then, it sure seems like guilty until proven innocent.

Trump has been reinstated into Colorado ballot.

The Secretary of State has decided she doesn’t want the bitch slapping from the Supreme Court.

It wouldn't matter if Vladimir Putin were on the Republican primary ballot. It is simply no business of an elected official who party members vote for in their primaries. These are not elections.

The stupid bitch that did this in Maine is the former executive director of the ACLU of Maine...

That's about as extreme Left as you can be. She'll be slapped down by the USSC, most likely in a 9-0 decision.

Tim Young is filling in for David Webb today. He just offered the following:

It is no coincidence that this Maine thing popped up on the same day the Colorado thing went away. It is all a coordinated effort to keep Republicans and the Trump campaign busy swatting this crap down constantly to create a drain on resources. As soon as Maine gets swatted down, another Lefty state will pop up.

The idiots on the left know it's all a bunch of shit, but they are going to do it anyway.

That's odd. The link you posted that claims to be the Daily Mail is the only place I can find it. Even that says it's only because the Republicans are appealing it to the USSC, which I believe will rule against Colorado. What are your other "everywhere" sources?

Democrats Disprove Claims They Will Covertly Rig Election By Rigging It In Plain Sight

AUGUSTA, ME — In a move designed to push back against criticism that they have a track record of rigging elections in secret, Democrats have now adopted a policy of rigging elections in broad daylight so everyone in the country can see it.

"We are being entirely transparent about our election interference," said Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows after announcing former President Donald Trump will not be allowed on the 2024 primary ballot. "Any wild allegations of covert efforts to rig elections are simply preposterous. As anyone can clearly see, the steps we are taking to interfere with and rig the outcome of our elections are being done in plain sight. This is a win for democracy."

Bellows's decision to rule Trump ineligible to be included on the state's ballot came on the heels of a hotly debated ruling by the Colorado Supreme Court that also attempted to keep Trump's name off the ballot in that state. Though serious questions have been raised regarding the legitimacy of elections, Democrats deny any secret plots. "We aren't hiding anything," Bellows said. "Everyone can see what the FBI and DOJ are doing. All these baseless indictments aren't being made in secret. Heck, I made a public announcement about taking him off the ballot. I don't know where these accusations of us covertly rigging the election are coming from."

At publishing time, top Democrat powerbrokers were reportedly also preparing to begin operations in every state to rule all Republican voters ineligible to vote in any elections in order to save democracy.

Thanks. As I've said before, if Trump is convicted of insurrection, they'll have a reason. Until & unless that happens, nope.

When a democrat loses CNN.

CNN senior legal analyst Elie Honig in Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows removing Trump from the ballot: “She based her ruling on a lot of documents, but also YouTube clips, news reports, things that would never pass the bar in normal court. She’s not a lawyer, by the way”

Think about this statement for a moment...

Maine Secretary of State claims that the reason Trump needed to be legally removed from the ballot was because “If his name was on the ballot, there’s a good chance people would have voted for him.”

The Trump campaign has released a statement...

The Trump campaign itself has now weighed in, releasing a statement after the Thursday decision.

"The Maine Secretary of State is a former ACLU attorney, a virulent leftist and a hyper-partisan Biden-supporting Democrat who has decided to interfere in the presidential election on behalf of Crooked Joe Biden," said Steven Cheung, the Trump Campaign Spokesman. "We are witnessing, in real-time, the attempted theft of an election and the disenfranchisement of the American voter. Democrats in blue states are recklessly and un-Constitutionally suspending the civil rights of the American voters by attempting to summarily remove President Trump’s name from the ballot."

It pains me to say this, but I agree with those who say Trump hasn’t been convicted, so he should be able to run.

Also, this is not a presidential election. It is a party nomination process to determine who they are going run from their party in the election.

Even a Carter appointed judge in the People's Republic of Kalifornia knows this is all bullshit...

A federal judge in California on Jan. 3 dismissed a lawsuit that sought to keep former President Donald Trump off the 2024 Republican primary ballot in that state.

District Judge David Carter granted a motion to dismiss the lawsuit “with prejudice,” which means that it can’t be submitted to the same court again, according to court papers.
