ANY FANS OF SCTV ,THE GREATEST COMEDY SKETCH SHOWS OF ALL TIME

Postby GRANDPA » Tue Apr 02, 2024 7:20 pm

Joe Flaherty, who played horror show host Count Floyd, newsman Floyd Robertson, smary entertainer Sammy Maudlin, farmer-host Big Jim McBob, & station owner Guy Caballero on SCTV, has passed away after a short illness yesterday. In so many ways, SCTV was way funnier than SNL.

Funny show. If memory serves, the first time I saw it I was staying at a motel in beautiful Orange, Texas, and it came on late. Lots of talent on that show that went on to bigger things.

All the greats are gone or retired now. Chevy Chase, Steve Martin and now even Kate McKinnon. It's too bad, it was genius!
