The Rangers have traded for veteran catcher Carson Kelly. I guess we'll be seeing a DFA for Andrew Knizner in short order.

And as nice as it was to sweep the lowly White Sox earlier this week, this weekend sweep by the Blue Jays was very disappointing.

The White Sox sweep was definitely fools gold. And only one of those games was won by a margin greater than one run. Lorenzen couldn't last one inning on Saturday and Gray pulled a groin before he threw his first pitch Sunday. What a mess.

After being unable to get out of the first inning on Saturday, Michael Lorenzen showed what a team player he was yesterday. When Jon Gray got injured on the mound during his first inning warmup, Lorenzen immediately went to manager Bruce Bochy and told him he was available to eat some innings. After Jonathan Hernandez and Jacob Latz covered the first four innings, Lorenzen soaked up innings five through eight, saving the bullpen a day after the bullpen had to eat 7+ innings for him.

Lorenzen was traded to the Royals this morning. The Rangers are getting left-handed pitcher Walter Pennington in return. Pennington was on the Royals' 40-man roster.

Awful showing in St. Louis today. Just barely avoided being shut out by a guy who was pitching his first major league game. And the schedule doesn't get any easier.

At the all-star break, I saw where somebody said the Rangers had the fourth easiest schedule in the league for the remainder of the season...

When does the easy part start?

At what point do we hold somebody accountable for this team's inability to hit and score runs?

ETA: And when do we move Adolis Garcia to the bottom of the order? He is just awful at the plate. He looks like a guy that's gone from ALCS hero to over-the-hill in a matter of months.

Enjoyed seeing Seager break up Framber's no-hitter in the most dramatic way, but a win over the Asstros would have been better.

Seager has done this twice and goes into the record book.

Rangers split a double header today in Yankee Stadium. Looked terrible in the first game. Eovaldi left the game after three innings with soreness on his right side. Won the second game in a rout, thanks in part to Aaron Judge mailing it in from center field.
