What they didn't expect was the firestorm that erupted.

The Gold Star families really didn't like what she said

They posted videos about how they were treated by the Biden-Harris administration

Then it got really bad for team joy.

As Vice President, I have had the privilege of visiting Arlington National Cemetery several times. It is a solemn place; a place where we come together to honor American heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service of this nation.

It is not a place for politics.

And yet, as was reported this week, Donald Trump’s team chose to film a video there, resulting in an altercation with cemetery staff. Let me be clear: the former president disrespected sacred ground, all for the sake of a political stunt.

Another moot point.
There were actually 2 separate wars in SE Asia fought at the same time. The other one was an air war fought in Laos using WWII prop job A/C stationed across the border in Thailand. It was all top secret. The pilots were X-military working for Air America, a CIA front company. They wore no insignia and carried no ID. Air rescue missions were flown out of Thailand. I was there from the beginning when we set up the radar site 10 miles from the town of Nakan Phanom on the Mekong river across from Laos. We dropped more tonnage of bombs on Laos than we did on Germany in WWII. A lot of these old bombs were duds but can explode if hit by something. Today an average of 1 person a day still die in Laos when they encounter an unexploded bomb.
