David Muir basically prompted Kamala to accuse Trump of lying. I think she is doing better than I expected, but in the end the debate will not be about how well she did, it will be about how she was helped by the moderators.

This is very, very bad for the GOP. I predicted here all the way back in 2016 that the Republican Party would disappear as a national force at latest with the 2028 election due to the changing demographics of the country, and that only by spectacularly misplaying their hand would the Democrats not win in 2024.

Once they control both houses with a veto-proof majority they will usher in Puerto Rico and DC as states and grant themselves permanent control of the Senate and Supreme Court. Continued massive Third World immigration, which is now beyond hope of control whoever is in the White House, will make the Democrats undefeatable until the schism in the party occurs that will see Omar and the Squad and their ilk become a separate, overtly socialist party and the Schumer/Pelosi/Newsom branch of the Democrats will present themselves as the center-right.

For a while it looked like they had chosen a candidate who was actually goofy enough to shock sizable numbers of the Democrat base at least into staying home, but Kamala managed to control her cackle and stick to her talking points and Trump wasted his opportunity by ranting about Haitians eating dogs. Now all she has to do is disappear until election day and the country will essentially forget about her and vote along party lines.
