Pennsylvania needs to make up it's mind. My father's family came from there. They had 18 children and lived in the same county as Jimmy Stewart's family, Indiana Co. Jimmy's father ran the hardware store in town. I visited there one time for a week. Their farm was just a few miles from groundhog park outside Punxatawny where the weather predicting ground hog lives.

Trump still has time to turn things around but he does not seem to be trying. He knows he made a fool of himself in the debate with Kamala and is afraid to do a second one but that is his only hope to convince the undecided. In all probability Kamala will retract the offer to do a second one if she thinks there is any chance of him accepting. She is the only one with anything to lose by debating again.

I don't know how things are looking nationwide as far as the congressional races go. With luck the Republicans will be able to hold their thumb in the dike for another round or two of congressional elections before the Democrats secure a veto-proof majority and create as many voters and senators as they want through statehood for DC and Puerto Rico and a blanket naturalization for all aliens within the country.

Any hope for holding back massive third world immigration is now gone. Any one of the other eight billion people in the world--and there will be a billion more by mid-century, all from undeveloped countries--who can somehow make his way to our coasts or borders is here to stay, and will eventually bring in his family. Even if by chance an individual is ordered to be deported--a lengthy and expensive process--his home country will probably simply refuse to take him back, as China, Venezuela and other countries are now doing.

The immigration deluge will not go on forever. The United States will lose its attraction to the third world as its economy and society sink to their own level. Unfortunately by that time a quarter of the population of the earth will probably be in the United States.
