Grandpa, some questions.....

Postby ann jusko » Sun Dec 28, 2014 1:47 pm

I was thinking this morning about truckers. I'd love to know how many states you've seen. It must be many!

Of the Lower 48, all that's left for me are North Dakota & Vermont. I've not gone into Canada or Mexico as a trucker, & probably won't. Of course, some states I spend a lot more time in than others. New Hampshire, I've only been through on I-95, about 20 miles, but I still count it. Thanks for asking.

That is amazing! I know it must be hard on your family, but after all these years, and with cell phones, they're probably more comfortable with it. Safe travels my friend.

My BIL was a long haul driver.
My husband planned to make a ride with him when husband retired. Unfortunately the BIL died 6 months before my husband retired.

I think the job would be interesting, with all the things to see, but lonely. At least now there is technology to keep you in touch with family.

Thank you. It's not an easy lifestyle. This was just supposed to be a backup job, purely temporary.Cell phones realy have been a big help to stay in touch with the family. I would still rather go back to being a cubicle dweller & home evrry night, regular hours & time off.

I have been by far to more countries, 27, than states, 14, thanks to the USN.
