Outstanding!
Our boys can't hold a candle to those dogs.
Harry used to stand in his water bowl and I haven't a clue why.
Alex invented his own game and had to teach us how to play. It's called the bark game.

Funniest story I can think about is one from my mom's dog. My stepfather went to Hooters to get home burgers and fries. However, when he came home, he found out that he had not been given the fries. So he had to go all the way back. He came back with the fries, put them on his TV tray and went to the kitchen to get his drink. When he got back from the kitchen, the dog was sitting in the chair and there were no fries. My stepfather had a notorious temper and Butch got a good chewing out.
My stepfather died from lung cancer over a year ago, but we will always remember that day, and a few others.

Hopefully there were no puppies involved later.

Nope. Somehow he never seemed to get her wanting to make a connection.
Re: Naughty dogs
My dog Douglas will grab a can off of the counter and open and eat the contents, but only if it contains something he likes such as cat food, tuna, chili, etc.
He will not bother a can of green beans or similar.
So one day out at the hunting lease he opens my hunting buddy's cooler and grabs a bottle of Green Tea, removes the screw on cap and starts drinking it. I tell my friend he look at that, Douglas likes Green Tea. He said "that Damn Dog is drinking my tea, who gave that to him ? " I told him Douglas will help himself, if you aren't watching too closely.

Re: Naughty dogs
I worry about my fur kid cutting his mouth on the can, but so far he hasn't, I try not to leave temptations around him, but the wife and grandkids forget quite often.

I'm assuming he can smell through the can or likes what he sees on the label....
Re: Naughty dogs
It has to be the smell of the stuff in the can, he is smart but he can't read

Re: Naughty dogs
When my husband retired we had recently taken in my mother's terrier/Chihuahua mix dog. It had not been well trained and had no mental restraints on doing things.
Husband prepared his lunch, heated the plate of meat/vegetables in microwave and placed it on the table. He got a phone call. When he finished the short call, turned to the table, his plate was clean and the dog was sitting in his chair as if to say, "Nice, do you have more?"
We all learned not to leave any food anywhere near where that dog could get it. It took us about a year to "civilize" that dog (do not walk across the laps of people to get where you want, do not walk across tables of any kind etc.) If she could have jumped that high, I'm sure we would have had her on the kitchen counter (that never happened).

Heh...too funny. The dog had no idea it wasn't supposed to eat off the table?? How funny...

Douglas knows he is not supposed to eat people food, and he won't, unless you are out of the room.

Alex (my younger Poodle) is like that with apples. Heaven forbid Bob leaves his afternoon apple anywhere where Alex can get it. Oh, and then there is the cabbage issue. Both boys will try to knock over the trash can for cabbage. So trash can goes onto the counter when there are outside cabbage leaves in it.
