Time for another episode of Pet Peeves

The newest thing for newsreaders is incorrect pronunciation of the singular "a", as in "The dog fetched a bone."

They're now making every use of the "a" with the long vowel sound instead of the sort vowel, so the newscast might read like this:

A bank robber hit A Commerce Bank getting A large sum of money. A policeman said "We have A plan to catch him and A bulletin has been posted. At this time, A composite sketch is being made and A forensics expert is looking at A recording of the incident."

It's annoying, incorrect, and sounds backwoods.

One of my Pet Peeves are people with those mega huge strollers out shopping. Tripped over the wheel of a stroller and went flying last weekend.

Technically, I do not go "on the road."

I do a lot flying to specific locations..most often out of the country.

But ok, amateur flyers are difficult..they slow down the process..and definitely try my patience near the holiday time.

What really irritates me are radio people who have adopted the affectation of stuttering. These are people who never used to do that, so I KNOW it is an affectation. They seem to use it to show how intensely they care about the topic at hand. It is sooo fake!
