I'm not ordinarily a complainer, but..

Postby GFB » Sun Jan 25, 2015 5:32 pm

...it's time for me to do a bit.

I really can't take people who..when being interviewed..answer questions starting with the word...

Your buddy Janet Yellen does it continually..listen to some of her press conferences or Congressional hearings.

I have to admit I am guilty of that too.
But, I'm even worse about starting every sentence with a "but". I have to go back and edit my posts and delete them. But, sometimes, I forget.

Flip side of the coin . . . an interviewer whose entire question is "talk about XYZ." (most commonly heard in sports interviews)

Also annoying is the interviewer who makes a statement/question with all the details and leaving the person very little to say except "yes" or "that's right."

There's typically nothing in any sports interview other than a series of sports clichés. If you look at the players interviewed on any team in any city, it will be the same four or five. The rest scored less than ten in the Wunderlich wonders category.

"Sort of" "It was sort of a meeting about our goals." It was a meeting or it wasn't. It wasn't "sort of" a meeting.

And the most annoying thing is that they say it like this:
"It was a meeting about our, sort of, goals.

That one induces me to, sort of, homicide. I think any jury would call it, sort of, justified.
