I wondered how he was going to pull that one off. I figured he had most of his money hidden off shore.

Someone sitting there with fancy vintage cars, nice jewelry, rental properties etc should have to pay for his own defense.

That was what mystified me. How in the world did he thing he would pull off the indigent ploy? Or, was it just another trick intended to slow the whole process?

First round of setting the stage for playing the race-card. He will later point to a rich white defendant that was provided a taxpayer funded defense, and claim he didn't have sufficient counsel due to his limited resources. No justice for the black man.
Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore.

I think JWP will now pay for his own legal team. With this Judge not backing off, he realizes just how deeply an investigation into his own wealth and assets the Judge could have gone. Most likely there are a lot of records he does not want the Judge and or the public to find out about. Not sure why it bothers him, if he is found guilty, jailed and shipped of to a Federal Institute, he will still be re-elected by his supporters..Go Figure...

Yup. The blind masses don't seem to have a problem with crooks in public office................which is how we wound up with the current prez and the vast majority of our Congress.
