So obvious. You slap your head and say "why didn't I think of that?"

It's kind of sad though. I hate to see a local company fold.

A bit of history.... RadioShack did not start in Texas, and this is not the first time it's been in disaster-land.
It began in Boston, and after about 40 years and on the razor edge of bankruptcy, Charles Tandy bought it to include in his hobby/crafting portfolio. After he died, the company took some bold moves, but couldn't keep up with the bolder moves of Bill Gates or Jobs/Wozniak and they floundered into the cold flopping fish you see now.
Doubtful anything can save it now. Radio is so much more than knobs and tubes and transistors.... the imagery alone is totally different.

Some coffee cups are just too small.

Years ago at a meeting to close a 7 figure deal with one of their retail divisions that included buying approx 500k of inventory the merch mgr told me he needed another couple days. The next week Tandy closed that division, sad to see them implode, took longer than I expected.
It's ok if you disagree with me.

I bought a couple of scanners from RS years ago. As they dont cover todays more common frequency's I went in a few months back to upgrade to a newer one. The selection was one style, the clerk didnt know a thing about setting it to Dallas area popular frequencies and it was almost $400.00. Went home, looked online and the same unit can be purchased at several places for around $175.00. Brand new, in box. RS needs to close the doors.

I always expected to pay a little more at Radio Shack. But it saved me the time of hunting around. The internet has changed that.
