Besides the fact that we love having neighbors, we also like being able to walk to everything.

My street is long, straight and flat. It's everyone's favorite street to walk the dog, push the stroller or ride bikes..we love the parade..and we say hello to everyone.

My brother lived in Santa Monica in an apartment on 23rd street for a while. I think that was where the apartment was. There were all kinds of people including homeless folks. The one time I stayed it was nice walking to shopping and to the beach (a bit chilly when I was there).

Santa Monica is a very bizarre place.

Some of the most expensive property in L.A. County..and it is also a homeless Mecca.

This extremely left wing city seems to like it that way. Millionaires and bums living on top of each other.

We don't have that problem in Burbank.

Santa Monica also has some of the strictest rent control in the country.

So if your brother' timing was right, he could be paying $500 for a apartment if he hadlived there for 20 years.

When an apartment that rents for a price like that becomes available..it might rent for $5000.00

Greg is right for once. But, in Texas where you have to drive everywhere, I'd rather stagger off to bed than stagger off to the car. I like amber beer best. I like all of the beers from Rahr in Ft. Worth, especially Buffalo Butt. And it's widely available here. Avalanche from Breckinridge is very good. Also, 90 Schillings from Odells in Ft. Collins is good and Wal Mart carries it now. Moose Drool is good if you like a little darker beer.

I love the Rahr beers. Iron Thistle is too heavy for me, thought. Ugly Pug (black lager) is my favorite, but I haven't had the Buffalo Butt. Shiner has a "Family Reunion" six-pack that has six different beers: regular Shiner, Bock, Kosmos, Bohemian Black Lager, and two others. It appears that it comes in different combinations. I brought it up to Indianapolis for a fund-raiser auction (along with some Rahr), and they were pretty excited about it.

I will choose beer from the tap every time if it's available, but bottled is better than cans.
