One of the things I really like about the apparent sin of straying off the printed subject is that it is a flow like face to face conversation and sometimes winds up being more interesting than the original subject. I don't understand why one would be irked by a change of subject in a thread. This from a person who pretty frequently changes conversation mid stream.

Don't get me wrong....I usually don't mind hijacks. They can be fun. But it took forever for anyone to answer Twiggler's originally asked question....

Hey, I just assumed he was DFW legend and in radio. Since radio is kind of what brought me here years ago, thought he would have been mentioned.
I wasn't into C&W music but I knew who he was. I don't think you could live in DFW in the 80's and not know who he was.

As I recall I was still living in Austin when I used to hear those Hiney Winery commercials. So his humor was obviously known there.
We moved back to Texas in 1986 so I guess any recollection I have of his name was after 1986.
And yes, some were pretty funny.
