There is one good thing coming out of this decision.....people and students in the community are uniting to fight the ruling. As the grandmother of a special needs child, I'm proud that both school districts she's (Texas and Arizona) attended encouraged her to
join the band. It's not a special needs band but the regular school band.

It means a lot to me because my granddaughter only has use of one hand and her right leg is also affected. The band director in Smithville worked with her and she is in percussion. I did get to see the band concert since Smithville had it streaming. I was so proud of her. Her Arizona school doesn't stream so I've only gotten to see short clips from my daughter's phone. But it's a lot better than not seeing any of the concert!
