Never had a class like this in my College Days

Self-described feminist Lauren Barri-Holstein shocked her students this week by showing them a video of her vagina during class.

Ms. Barri-Holstein, a PhD student and lecturer at Queen Mary University of London, was introducing a new module for her class called “Theater and its Others.”

In its introduction, she showed a video from her play “Splat!” The clip, which was shown to first-year students, “shows her inserting a knife handle into her vagina and throwing red tomatoes at the blade, giving birth to a small, plastic Bambi figurine, and inflating a condom.”

Ms. Barri-Holstein told the stunned class that it was “feminist performance art concerned with the female body.”

Splat! also has scenes in it where Ms. Barri-Holstein urinates on stage and “dangles” from a harness while nude.

A student in the class told his student newspaper about the experience. “It was surreal. I honestly didn’t know how to react,” the student said.

“I don’t think I’ll ever be able to look her in the eye in person, it’s just weird. It’s not even the fact we saw her lady parts, it’s the fact I literally have no idea how the clip was in any way related to this module. It was just so extreme and I don’t understand why it was in any way necessary.”

Another student, however, said that they “understand” where Ms. Barri-Holstein was coming from by showing the clip.

That's one classy broad! Disgusting. Almost makes me embarassed that I was ever a feminist.............but my time was before the insanity and man hating began. The only thing worse than her is anyone who takes her class.

BTW when someone displays something this crass that last thing I would call them are "lady" parts. She is clearly no lady.

I did. Mental picture not the least appealing. We used to keep a neighbor's heifers in our pasture till they had their first calves -- back when Texas still had many small dairies. That was when I became very glad that I didn't own any cows...............and even more glad that I wasn't a cow! The life of a milk cow is nothing to be envied.

I also learned that there is no animal scarier and more hostile than a Jersey bull.

I did Red Oak but then it was because I was in nursing school. The tone was totally different though. I had to work labor and delivery for awhile. We didn't have many deliveries so it was pretty boring most of the time. Although when I was working Main Navy, a man ran in to the ER and said his wife was having a baby out in the car. We got out there and there was no time to even get her inside. I will never forget that her name was Rose Conceptshion (well that's how it's pronounced) anyway. It was her 8th baby. It was over and mother and baby were doing well so into the ambulance and off to Bethesda hospital.
