Texting while driving is not as dangerous

Twice this week I had some woman swerve into my lane while looking into the vanity mirror and putting on their war paint !

Good God Almighty ! Ladies please wait and do it some where else.

And men, the car isn't the place to read the paper or your favorite novel. I've seen both. Bad driving isn't limited to a single sex.

I haven't seen the paper reading and driving in awhile; but every third driver seems to be massaging their smart phone.

Kids in the backseat of the car can be very distracting. Should we outlaw them too?

No, and I don't advocate passing a law against applying make up while driving; I just think you shouldn't do it. And if you do insist on doing it, be competent at it and stay out of my lane !

Would a good Shock Collar work for unruly kids ? I hate to be getting old, but having grown children and angelic grandchildren is a good thing ! e

Tailgating is my pet peeve.
Women do it on a 3:1 ratio more than men- particularly young women.

I have pulled over on the side of the road to deal with my children when they are unruly. They have to see that you WILL do it.

Yes you have to let them know you are not bluffing.

As a Grand Parent it is different, first I have the benefit of having the experience of raising a child, and I have a better idea of what to get worked up over, and what to let slide. And I truly believe my Grandkids are better behaved than their parents were; and all of my children are great Parents, better Parents than I was overall I believe.

And I truly believe my Grandkids are better behaved than their parents were; and all of my children are great Parents, better Parents than I was overall I believe.

I always sang to my kids when they were little, and I rarely had any problems. The big hit with them was "The Ballad of Jed Clampett".

When I was about 12 our minister had a son, about age 6 then, who was diabetic.
Food and insulin had to be monitored.
We had enjoyed a field trip to the zoo. On the way home, his mother was in a mood (because of dealing with kids all day, I know).
Her son kept whining about wanting a banana and he knew she had a banana, give him the banana etc. etc. etc.
Finally, she pulled off the road, yelled at him "I told you no banana." (and other things) Then she jerked the banana out of the picnic basket, threw it n the ground and stomped the banana repeatedly.
I think she then yelled that she would hear no more about a banana.
The car load of kids sat in stunned silence. We rode home in silence.
It remains a memorable event of "Don't make me pull over."

Heh...I could see myself doing that.

About a month ago, my 10 year old wasn't getting her way and kept repeatedly saying "let me out of this car". After telling her to stop or she'd be sorry, I stopped....right on the side of a busy road....made her get out...and we stood there and had a talk with cars going by. I wanted to be SURE she was thouroughly embarrassed by the time I was through. Then we got back in the car and drove home.

A few weeks ago we went on an outing with our older 12 year old grand daughter, I told her to take a jacket as it was a little cool and windy, my wife said honey take a sweater or a jacket. She said she didn't want to, and she would be fine.

Thirty minutes later she said she was cold; and I told her "you should have brought a jacket", another ten minutes she was shivering and on the verge of tears. I figured she had suffered enough and I took off my flannel shirt and gave it to her.

Then I shivered in my T-Shirt; while she was further punished by wearing grand pa's smelly shirt

If it had of been my oldest Grand Son; I would have let him shiver all day as part of him earning his man card.
