A couple of days ago I walked all our porches and we had 8
nests either completed or nearly so. It was going to get way
too messy. I sat and watched them each until I was sure
that they were not babies and then pulled each of them down.
I love watching them, even when they are harassing the dog's
or swooping by me as I am sitting on one of the gliders or swings
but don't like all the droppings. They of course love the 10' covered
porches.

Re: Sue, about those barn swallows,
I certainly understand your reluctance to deal with the mess. They are dreadfully messy.
Our nest count is up to 7 and there are eggs and or babies in each one at this point. They have built nests on 2 windows.
Bob asked when are we going to draw the line on more nests. I dunno.
The cat took out 1 day before yesterday. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Yeah and that makes me want to draw a line on the cat. She deprived some bird of a husband or wife. We know I'm not a cat fan and she's seriously pushing her luck.
