Muslims and the Koran

Postby grouchy » Thu May 14, 2015 3:30 am

I have been sitting here thinking about things and letting my mind wander.
We have all heard that the Koran is all about hate, jihad, sexual abuse
of children, etc. I really don't know if that is really true.

I just checked out the site where I buy online books. I downloaded the Koran
for free. It may take me a while, but I am going to read it all.

Some of y'all are sneering at me and thinking I am a fool for doing this.
I think forming my own opinion is the way to go on this.

What are your thoughts?

I think you are going to learn the truth about what is in the Koran. Good for you! Would love to hear your feedback as you go along.

Your a better man than I. I'm not into mysticism and it would bore me to death. But, I'll be interested to hear what you learn.

Did you get the King James version or the New Revised Standard version?

good job , I've never read it but I do follow the actions of the people that follow the writings of the Koran and other Islamic holy books plus sharia law . iran [shia] is a good place for me to watch the goings on of hardcore islamists as they practice their religion . I also keep track of 'isis' [sunni] controlled areas in the middle east !! Read the book , well I read excerpts and I am interested in their language and the definitions of some of their words and concepts like 'taqiya' , jizyah , dhimmis and dhiminitude which are all easily found on the internet !!

Since I assume what you are reading is translated, how do you know you are getting a legitimate translation?

What's the difference between a "hardcore" Islamist and a regular one?

no difference in my opinion as the moderates [regular] will be ruled over by the hardcore . See 'iran' [shia] and 'isis' [sunni] controlled parts of the middle east . The moderates [regular] probably shed a few tears and do a little begging as they are being executed !!

Same could be said, and is, about the Bible. King James is a classic example of politics shaping the wording of the Bible.

Are you suggesting that the Koran is an anti-Islamic hoax, designed to make the Muzzies look as evil as possible?

The Koran claims to be the direct, literal, word of God (Allah).
Do you believe it is a hoax?

Me? I have no idea. And could care less. As I said, I'm not into mysticism. I don't pay much attention to any of it.

seeing that 'islam' is the newest of the 3 religions and its only about 1400 years old I have often thought that it copies or plagiarizes the earlier Christian and Jewish writings to some extent . Reason for my thinking is that in the 'koran' it drops a lot of Judeo Christian names and concepts from the earlier 'J.C.' writings . I think that the 'koran' is a Fiction [or satans religious book] from the beginning and was written as a response of superiority over Jewish and Christian religion !! By the way , I am not very religious , just a nominal Christian from birth and this is just a comment !!
