Good mornin'

Postby grouchy » Mon May 18, 2015 5:10 am

I have sitting out in a porch swing for the last hour or so. No traffic up on the road. Heard frogs down at the tank, a couple of owls, and various insect sounds.
But what was haunting beautiful was a train passing thru Grandview and Itasca.
They are both about ten miles from us (as the crow flies).

I am going to have a wonderful day and hope that you do too.

Foggy here and still. Skunk smell too bad to linger outside.

There is a track about 6 miles to the north of us. When winds are northerly and pretty still I can hear that train blow its whistle as it approaches the crossing in Cumby. It is an eery sound.

Me too but Harry (my older poodle) woke me up and insisted we start the day. The eyesight in his only remaining eye had some dramatic deterioration last week so he's basically blind unless light is very bright. He wakes up and is frightened that he can't see. We are seeing the doggie eye doc tomorrow.

Awww Sue, sorry to hear that about Harry. I remember when you got him as a puppy and it just doesn't seem that long. My mom's poodle is about nine now. She lost a few teeth a few months back but as far as we know her eyes are still fine.

He'll be 12 in August. Despite all his hardships he's been a very sweet and happy boy and my shadow ever since I got him. It breaks my heart that he seem to be losing what eyesight he had left. He's been deaf for about a year so this is especially difficult for him.

I have my 15 year old seal point Siamese, Blue. He's been the perfect, sweet, loving cat causing me no trouble, very laid back about the girls and stayed healthy. I've rewarded him by inflicting a six month old dog on him that continuously wants to play. Yet he just seems to tolerate Buddy until we call off the dog. Blue knows he will always be my favorite. It will be a very sad day when he's not with me anymore.

Since the surgery I have been waking up around 2am every morning. No problem but my mind starts working and I stay awake for a few hours. I really enjoy the quiet.
