UPDATE: 6:29 Central — KWTX News 10 reports at least 100 weapons recovered at the scene. Waco PD said this was “the most violent scene” he had seen in years.

Nine people are dead in what was described by witnesses as a “war zone” battle between rival biker gangs outside a Twin Peaks restaurant in Waco, Texas. All of those killed were members of the biker gangs.

A fight broke out between members of the gangs on Sunday just after noon, according to an article on the DailyMail.com. The fight quickly escalated as bikers produced chains, clubs knives and guns, said Waco Police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton.

How innocent people were not hurt is a miracle.

I wondered about that. Haven't closely followed this but heard no mention of innocents. Amazing!

I have to say I am impressed with how the Waco police have handled this mess. They may have saved a lot of lives with their well prepared response.

Or was it?
Remembering the Waco Massacre, when the BATF and FBI burned 76 people to death, most of them little children, we should not forget that it began as a publicity stunt for the BATF, complete with members of the press assembled to applaud law enforcement. This recent incident, which the cops knew about in advance, ended with much publicity about the greatness and necessity of cops to protect us from bikers. We know the cops shot bikers. But who shot first? Was the whole event, if not staged then allowed to take place, for propaganda purposes?

Now they are saying some of the bikers may have been killed by those aggressive, overly militarized cops.

And what did they do with all the motorcycles?

I heard they can tell who shot who from the bullet holes. Is that possible?

Obama responded Monday to the over militarization by banning local police departments from receiving a range of military-style equipment

Seized/hauled away to storage. Asset Forfeiture will come into play on some of them.

So who do you want showing up at a biker gunfight in a public place - well-trained, well-armed law enforcement officers, or Barney Fife?

some lucky police will be riding some nice used bikes !! As far as mrobama slowing down military equipment to cops . I Heard that the police have been being outfitted since the 'clinton' years so they have quite a bit of military equipment already .

Bikers knew officers were on site and didn't care how well armed or trained they were.

Franchise has already been terminated by owners of Twin Peaks, as it should have been.

That's why cops have to be ready for anything. When the bad guys aren't afraid of you, you're job just got a whole lot harder.

Exactly. Sounds like this was handled exactly as it should have been. And the stupid restaurant franchise owner should be charged with a crime for ignoring police who told him not to have this event. Stupid stupid stupid.
