There's a whole lot of water out there

Denton creek below Grapevine lake is flooding out a lot of the people below the dam, mostly mobile homes. If power goes out they will be forced to vacate. Grapevine is 28ft over full.

According to channel 4, the I35 bridge at the Okie border is still open, but the water is right up to the bottom. It's usually 30 or 40 ft. below.

For the 5th time in history, Texoma is topping the dam and going over the spillway. The 4th time was last month. According to a fishing guide the lake water is like chocolate milk.

Fishing sucks. Except below Dennison dam where all the flood gates are open. It is packed with fishermen on the shore casting to big stripers. Also, boats come up the river toward the dam as close as they dare in the boiling water and drift back down trying to catch the stripers. Some of these are guides with air boats who do this all the time.
Here's a good video of what it is like.

Lake Travis has gone from 40% capacity to 82% (as of Friday) in less than 2 weeks. That's a VERY good thing!
Working to love my fellow person regardless : >
