I noticed on Facebook, so many people's profile picture is rainbow colored. I changed mine to black & white. I don't know yet how many got that. The way I see it, the reason so many are celebrating, especially young straight kids, is that they want life to be fair instead of right. The SCOTUS ruling affirms that to them. They don't understand that life isn't fair & no ruling by government will ever make it so. They haven't learned about Federalism & the proper role of the government. They have no clue about the implications of this ruling. The time will come when the unintended consequences happen. I weep for my country.
I feel like I'm parked diagonally in a parallel universe.

You should be against this.

I heard a gay conservative yesterday saying that he was happy about the outcome, but concerned about the way it came about. He agreed that the Supreme Court created law, and expressed concern over what the limits of this court are.

funny how the SCOTUS ruling of "you don't have to be a citizen to vote" didn't get more play. Why do we even have the freaking Constitution?!?!

I've never been asked to show proof of citizenship, which is what the issue the court ruled on, when registering to vote.

and we have a real problem with voter fraud. Why do we have to show ID to do anything else? Maybe everyone SHOULD have to show ID to vote. Otherwise, anyone can just walk in and vote, in multiple precincts, multiple states.

Isn't that still the law? Last couple of times we voted we had to show ID. I see nothing wrong with that either, Kent.

I think you SHOULD be required to show ID. The SCOTUS says you don't have to show anything.

They just overturned whatever Texas passed to require IDs.

Voter fraud has existed for decades, LBJ and box 13 was old school, electronic votes that change is the new way, absentee votes are cast by people incapable of voting, absentee votes will be excluded for obtuse reason, etc.

The slippery slope of having 2 states with a proof of citizenship requirement is unpleasant to me.

The Voting Laws are in the purview of the States; or were; just like Marriage was.

voter fraud has existed for a long time, so lets not try to fix it. OK. Got it.

................or rather :x . You are correct, Kent. I suspect it can never be eliminated but gee, some steps to help prevent don't seem all that horrible..............unless you are a voter who wants to commit fraud.
