General Dunford on existential threats to USA
Re: General Dunford on existential threats to USA
yeah , 'cd' , I think that you are , well , err , a counterfeiter and I'll keep politely reminding you of that when I see you going 'off topic' as you try to spin things . I'll just politely point out your actions when I see them .

AND , bottom line is that the General pointed out reality rather than follow the regimes line and spin !! And the General seems to be ok these 6 - 7 days after he made his warnings 'cd' !!
Re: General Dunford on existential threats to USA
I always get tickled when I see a news story about how a senior naval officer has been removed from his command. The popular phraseology now is "loss of confidence in ability to command." That can cover a multitude of screw-ups, real or imagined. But down in the comments you will always find remarks like "another victim of Obama's purge of the military."
It just doesn't work that way. These people are removed because their superior officers remove them. Sometimes it is clearly warranted, sometimes it appears to be an overreaction. And why does that happen? Because if the superior officer doesn't take action, then HIS superior officer might remove him! It's just a big CYA Cluster-F.
And there's really no point in sending these guys to Portsmouth or Leavenworth or wherever they go now. It's hard to punish them any more than to tell them that their command has been taken away from them and their career is over. And that they will be shunned by their contemporaries, because their contemporaries don't want to get on their boss's bad side either!
Of course, some of them are able to parlay their early retirement into a cushy defense industry job or a gig as a talking head on cable TV. And if all else fails, there's always the book.
