Washington (CNN)—Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry on Wednesday went further than any other Republican candidate in blasting Donald Trump, defining "Trumpism" as its own ideology that poses an existential threat to not just the Republican Party, but the broader conservative movement.

Contrasting Trump with the great presidents of previous centuries, the former Texas governor said Trumpism was no more than "a barking carnival act" and "a toxic mix of demagoguery, mean-spiritedness and nonsense".

"I will not go quiet when this cancer on conservatism threatens to metastasize into a movement of mean-spirited politics that will send the Republican Party to the same place it sent the Whig Party in 1854: the graveyard," said Perry.

Me too. Mourning Joe today disagreed and thinks Trump is the real deal. Somebody is going to look pretty stupid before long. Bill Krystal thinks we have already hit peak Trump. Look out below!

We all ready have a narcissist president. We really, really don't need another one. It seems like all of New York is in for Trump. Or maybe it's just the alphabet stations. I hope so. I never have liked him. As I said the hair on my neck always stands up when I see/hear him and it's getting worse.

not much experience with Rick , liked when he shot that little coyote with , think it was a .380 . I have heard him talk on immigration , I think that he is squishy !! I have never really taken him seriously as a top tier guy . What is his standing numberwise in the 'rino' line up . Course he does have his fans so we'll see what happens I guess !
