Less well-known (or unknown) favorites:

Can I Change My Mind - Roy Buchanan
Theme For an Imaginary Western - Leslie West w/ Jack Bruce
Leavin' For Good - Raw Sugar
Astronomy - Blue Oyster Cult
Why Does Love Got to Be So Sad - Derek and the Dominoes
While My Guitar Gently Weeps - Jeff Healey
Europa - Santana

I didn't list any Motown, because, frankly, where do I start? 60s Motown was simply amazing. I could listen to Stevie Wonder, the Temptations, Marvin Gaye, etc... all day long every day and never get tired of it. Dusty Springfield, too.

There is so much great music, how do you choose just a few songs ?

It is great to see Roy Buchanan and Badfinger mentioned.

Wichita Lineman was on the radio yesterday, and I was mentioning to my wife how much I love that song.

It doesn't get much better than Jimmy Webb lyrics and Glen's performance of them.

I never was much of a Glen Campbell fan. I read that he's in pretty bad shape with Alzheimer's.
I always stayed pretty low to the ground with my country favorites- Acuff, Ernest Tubb, Carl Smith, Webb Pierce, Kitty Wells and the early Johnny Cash were pretty much it.

Glen transcended one musical type or style, his work with the Wrecking Crew and the Beach Boys is an example of this, he was a great guitarist.

Webb Pierce and Lefty Frizell favorites of mine, along with E.T.

Yeah, I forgot Lefty Frizzell. He was a great. I never could place Roger Miller- he covered the board, but I liked him.

Lots of good memories in this thread. It is amazing to think about the music when we were kids. I will add Glenn Yarborough performing rod mckuen songs, Tom T Hall , and Whitney Houston and I Will Always Love You.

Yep, lots of good stuff...........'cept for Elvis. :( I'm not, nor have I ever been, an Elvis fan.

My very favorite song of all time is Summertime from Porgy & Bess.
Almost anything from Peter, Paul, & Mary
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band
Somewhere

Agree about the transcendence of Glen Campbell. My favorite of his songs Wichita Lineman
Working to love my fellow person regardless : >
