To the Anti-Trophy Hunters
To the Anti-Trophy Hunters
It would take more time than I care to invest in trolls and idiots to fully explain that money from the African Game hunters in the form of government fees, guide fees and bureaucratic bribes are the major source of funds for African game preserves, that protect the animals from pouching and extinction. It also increases the animals desirability to the African Natives, who in general would otherwise rather be rid of the Large Game.
Here in the US dumb asses fail to understand that American Game Animals were in severe decline until hunters demanded changes in games laws and taxes that began programs to increase the number of game animals and habitat for them. It is the same story around the world.

Re: To the Anti-Trophy Hunters
Yes and if it were just them that suffered the extinction as a result of their idiocy and not the Game populations I wouldn't give a crap, other than as entertainment.

Like Rush said this week.."If you want lots of a particular type of animal..eat them"
I think I've heard Ted Nugent say something like that, too.

In recent years I came to the thought that it may be best to let nature take it's course with idiocy, my give a damn plumb wore out with people that make stupid descison after stupid descison and only go on living because of others that enable them, making the problem larger.
Animals on the other hand seem to do the best they can for themselves, given their limitations.

Re: To the Anti-Trophy Hunters
I think that's pretty much true especially concerning the first lines in your last post RedOak .
Re: To the Anti-Trophy Hunters
Before WWII if I had been alive and rich (two things that will never happen) an African Safari would have been a grand thing to do. I have no interest in hunting African Game, and not any interest in visiting. I understand why some do however and it is they the keep the vestige of the old days alive. The Do Gooders have F'ed up the African Continent more than the Commies and Colonists, in my opinion and that is no small feat. The same goes here, and is not limited to Wild Game.
I would like to go Brown Bear Hunting some day.

Re: To the Anti-Trophy Hunters
Smokey is a Black Bear, I find them sort of cute and I wouldn't want to hunt them. Brown Bear are a different critter.
BTW one of my Grand Mother's cousins was in on the rescue of the original Smokey Bear cub in New Mexico.

Both thumbs stuck in your nose? Eyes about to pop out? That vein
on your forehead appears about ready to lose its integrity.
Geez, such vituperation ...
and to think it's all wasted.
You are wrong.
And you are reduced to silly name calling. Well, I'll just join
you in that, flag boy!
Sigh. I wish the world was as simple as you seem to think it is.
(You don't have time. Pish tush. Take the time, I think what I
have posted is akrit. If it ain't I wanna know it ... so school me,
flag boy.)

Gosh and golly! Bring out the big dumb guns.... the Amboy Ducks can't be far behind.
By the way: I think I left some leeway for trophy hunting -- but don't f*cking kill the
damn lions. (and some others ...) my gawd, flag boy, they are raising cubs so
the dumb asses and the ass holes of the world (who probably couldn't hit the side
of a barn if they were inside it) could a least hit a tame lion while it's lying down.

Your posts make no sense to me..they appear to be mindless ramblings.
You are free to do that, but do not expect substantive responses from me when there is no substance to respond to.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. What I have written is clear if aggravating. I have the substance so jump in whenever you have some.
I, however, will deal with the facts.
Start here of you have any desire to learn: http://www.saveafricananimals.org/attac ... vation.pdf
This blows flag boy outa the water even when you jump in to protect his wittle bitte butte.

Not ravings. Verifiable fax. You don't have the facts or the guts on your side so you run after the 'good' doctor
Palmer. An icon of courage and truthfulness. You think you can cover for him? Maybe, but I think not.
Wish he'd come out of hiding and defend himself.
Calling my stuff 'ravings' and rambling is really lame and it's not an argument. It's childish.

I don't know where this comes from. I have never mentioned it. Not only do we have good hunters here; we need them. The deer population needs trimming.Turkeys are great game birds.
I grew up with honest and ethical hunters. I KNOW that the hunting and fishing organizations have mobilized to do enormous good for the wild animals.
I never said a word against.
My anger is with the lies and deceit of those who buy trophies. More than half of those are wealthy, white Americans.
Probably mostly candy assed wusses who think hunting trophies has anything to do with manhood.
So don't put me up there with those who don't understand the basics that the AGA teaches and stands for. I just don't off on killing animals for entertainment and I don't get off on lazy hunters.
This is my hunting creed: "Deer-stalking would be a very fine sport if only the deer had guns." And I really draw the line at animal parts lying around the house.

Re: To the Anti-Trophy Hunters
Factual, as opposed to wishful thinking found all over the place, argument number 1.
1. Trophy hunting can hurt the overall population of a species
Though hunting groups often claim that a small amount of controlled trophy hunting does not harm populations, the opposite appears to be true. In the case of African lions, “Approximately 600 lions are killed every year on trophy hunts, including lions in populations that are already declining from other threats…The adult male lion is the most sought-after trophy by wealthy foreign hunters. And when an adult male lion is killed, the destabilization of that lion’s pride can lead to more lion deaths as outside males compete to take over the pride,” reports Jeff Flocken for National Geographic.
The recent Michigan wolf hunt has been filled with controversy - wolves were recently removed from the endangered species list, and soon after, hunted for trophies. The Toledo Blade reports, “People who understand conservation were appalled [about the hunt]. Michigan Technological University Professor John Vucetich, a conservation biologist, said, ‘There is no scientific evidence wolves need to be hunted.’ He added: ‘It’s not common sense to spend decades bringing the wolf back from the brink of extinction, only to begin killing the animal.’”
