My dad owned one exactly like it, same color, only it was a station wagon. I drove it as a teenager. Big engine, it could peel rubber for a half block!

I love that little old lady. The car is 2 years younger than me, and in better shape.

I drove quite a few 57s in my Teenage Years - I liked 55s better cleaner lines IMO.

Ah, Chevy..........

My parents purchased a used 53 Chevy (mint green) and we were driving it until the wheels were just about off.
It qualified for a "hoopie" car. As teenagers, we were embarrassed, but with no money, kids, and kids in college, that is how it went.
Finally in the summer of 63 my Dad had a wreck in it. As soon as we knew he was OK, the kids cheered (silently) as we knew NOW we would no longer be in that carp car..........Daddy went out to buy a replacement vehicle. We knew it would not be new, but it would be an improvement. WRONG He brought home a 54 Chevy (dark green). AAAAAAAAA the agony!

In high school, I had a friend with a a "57 Belaire convertable, White with a black top and a 327/three on the tree. I always wanted one.
As far as the '55, I always liked the '56 better.
