In the years since leaving the race, Perry has sought to push back against the impression he left during the campaign, a time when he was suffering from severe pain due to sciatica. As Perry wraps up his tenure as governor, the four-term state executive is taking active steps to ensure the future won’t be a repeat of the past if he decides to he make a second run for presidency.
“Over the last 18 months, I have focused on being substantially better prepared,” Perry said.

Then, each element is discussed and the reason for the grade is given.

I'm not going to get into a donnybrook but I sure am glad that he and other legislators are "surging" DPS to the border. Anyone not agree with that move?

Yes, I think this needs to happen. We just can't have people flooding the border like this.

It depends on what the DPS is able to do. I suspect they can't do anything.
I believe it is a grandstanding move on the part of Perry. We'll see.
