Look at the bright side, the Pubs have a very deep bench of credible candidates, the Rats don't.

Not sure Cruz is all that smart...

If you're not aware of Ted Cruz's brain power, then you simply have not been paying attention.

I'll bet you think Barack Hussein Obama is brilliant.

I think Obama is a smart man.
Obama ran the smartest campaign, in 2008, than any candidate has ever ran and he was the chief engineer of it.
Jimmy Carter is a very intelligent man- he also was a terrible president.
The two do not always equate.

I don't think Obama is very smart. He is really just a rigid ideologue incapable of thinking for himself. Valerie Jarrett pulls his strings. She is his puppet master. Any time he goes off script (off teleprompter), he sounds like a fool.

I disagree. Obama's problem as president is not a lack of intelligence, it's a lack of interest. He isn't an ideologue, he is a pragmatist with a leftist bent.
The only presidents we have had (in my lifetime) who were true ideologues were Reagan and LBJ. One a conservative, the other a liberal. The rest of them just wanted to be president with no real idea of what they wanted to accomplish.
Obama's intelligence was used to get elected. Once elected he couldn't care less about the job.
Jimmy Carter was exactly the same way.

To give you an example of how smart a campaigner Obama was, did you know that Hillary won the majority of popular primary votes in 2008, and Obama won most of the delegates?
He made every dollar count and concentrated his time and money on delegate rich precincts. Hillary won many states with Obama raking in most of the delegates from those states.
Smartest campaign in history.

Does anybody know what in heck a "howler" is? And how can someone turn on a dime in a posting and decide Cruz just might not be what he thought he was?

I do have a "swarmy" alert system. Mark can tell you that's exactly my word for our new congressional representative. He so glossed over where he made his money (he lent himself $500,000 for his campaign). He sued doctors and hospitals for that money. He was the mayor of Heath and promised to donate 15 acres so we could build a Y. And then a developer came along....and you know the rest of the story. We had a state senator that was swarmy, too. He's gone! I know he couldn't believe he'd ever be voted out and acted that way. State Senator 2, Bob Hall sends weekly reports and keeps us up to date on EVERYTHING.

Answering my own question.

I don't think anyone was able to pull Trump offside.

Trump didn't do anything to hurt himself tonight, but as Britt Hume just said he probably didn't pick up any new support.

Cruz never even got off the bench tonight. Was never even given a chance.

I'm suprising myself, Cruz and Huckabee went way up in my ratings.Trump embarassed himself. Paul didnt say anything worthy of remembering. Christie did ok, but he wont get my vote based on his temperment before he became a candidate. Likewise for Jeb, the rest were there for show I assume.

..did any scummy journalist types that think it's all about them get slapped around by any of the candidates?

Please..make my day.

I'll say it again: the more that people get a chance to actually see/hear Cruz (instead of the media's portrayal of him), the more they will like him.

Oh yeah, Trump almost caused a riot in the restaurant. He smarted off to Megyn Kelly. You could feel (and hear) the indignation at his juvenile retorts to people. And yes, he got booed in the center, too. He didn't have enough sense to tone it down and act presidential. Not a person I'd ever want as president. She asked how he would get the women's vote when he called them sluts, etc. He turned on her. He just can't handle the heat....remind you of the narcissist we have had for 8 freaking years?

They were all 3 scummy journalists, especially the blonde. After all this was Faux News. They seemed to be shooting at Trump with the toughest questions. He handled them pretty well but I don't think he will get any boost in the polls since he's at Peak Trump. Bush was weak. Paul was kind of irritating. Rafael was just OK. My man Kasich did very good which I expected, he's a pro.

Your man Kasich? So you belong to the establishment wing of the Republican party?

No, I'm a libertarian, small l. I only register Republican to vote. Kasich is the only person running for the Republicans with the qualifications and experience to be president. So, I'd vote for him.

No, it doesn't.

That guy..like all the rest in both parties, would never turn on the media.

Turning on the members of the media is the only reason for me to watch debates..or any press conference type events.

"Moderators dominate debate time..31.7%..more than any candidate."

These POSs think it's about them.
